Q. How can I get a copy of a birth certificate from Brigham & Women's Hospital Archives?

Birth certificates are not kept by the BWH Archives or BWH Medical Records. The Massachusetts State Archives is the official repository for vital records from the area. Records after 1920 are located at the municipal clerks’ offices or the Department of Public Health, Registry of Vital Records and Statistics. Please inquire at the Registry of Vital Statistics.
