Last Updated: May 22, 2025    Views: 6

The NIH Public Access Policy minimally applies to journal articles resulting from NIH funding that have been accepted for publication on or after July 1, 2025.

More specifically, the Policy applies to the version of a journal article that has been peer-reviewed, accepted, and includes any changes made during the review process but before the publisher has applied formatting, copyediting, or typesetting. This version is called the Author Accepted Manuscript under the Policy.

Author Accepted Manuscript: The Policy applies to the Author Accepted Manuscript, or author’s final version that has been accepted for publication in a journal that meets NIH’s criteria.
