The place where you will first need to add this book chapter is within the MyNCBI Bibliography.

Once you have signed into the MyNCBI Bibliography account for the Principal Investigator, you will see a button on the upper right that will say “Add Manually”. This allows us to add more citations into the bibliography maintained here.

By default, the “Add Manually” form will show you how to fill out the fields for manually entering the citation information for a forthcoming journal article. This form can be changed to accommodate other materials.

If you click on the little arrow at the top of the entry form that says “Choose the type of citation to create”, you will notice that "Books and Chapters" is an option you can also select. [One could also add conference presentations, datasets and more]

Once you select the type of citation you wish to create, the form will prompt you to enter the citation fields that will be required for a properly formatted citation within the "Publications" listings within the other NIH reporting tools.

Once the chapter is added to the MyNCBI Bibliography, it will then become available for you to select within the eRA Commons RPPR (Products and Publications Section C) for your progress report. It will also become available as an item that you could select to populate the Publications section within a BioSketch when using the SciENcv tool.
